“England had Newley, America had Sammy Davis Jr - and now Australia has its own triple threat ready toskyrocket..” SUNDAY MAIL
After a sell-out season in last year’s Adelaide Cabaret Festival and straight from a week at the Sydney Opera House, local lad Hugh Sheridan returns in this spectacular show chronicling the life of showbiz legend Anthony Newley.
Logie award winning actor Hugh Sheridan’s portrayal of Newley has astonished audiences and critics alike.
From child star to Las Vegas legend, Newley banked an amazing body of work. He is best known for co-writing the hit musicals Stop The World - I Want To Get Off, The Roar Of The Greasepaint - The Smell Of The Crowd and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, as well as a number of best-selling hit singles, including What Kind Of Fool Am I?, Feelin’ Good and Goldfinger.
The triumphant return of this magical piece of theatre.

Press review from 2009 Cabaret Festival
Alone on stage, apart from a trio of musicians, young Adelaide actor Hugh Sheridan brings Newley to life, from his rather miserable East End childhood to his high life in the States. Sheridan even manages a convincing East End patois as he slips easily from dialogue to song throughout the show.
Hugh Sheridan doing Anthony Newley doing Sammy David Junior is a real highlight; so is the silence of the audience as Sheridan’s eyes fill with tears at one of the show’s emotional turning points.
