Ruth Wilkin wins Short + Sweet Cabaret 2011

An innovative cabaret festival Short + Sweet Cabaret 2011, which featured a collection of brand new 10-minute shows, took place between October 27 to November 6 at Chapel Off Chapel in Melbourne.

Established and emerging cabaret performers in over 40 acts competed for this year’s Short + Sweet Cabaret under the artistic direction of Emma Clair Ford.

Out of the 11 finalists, Ruth Wilkin was named the overall winner for her show, Just a Little Something I’ve Been Working On. Wilkin also won both the Best Writing and People’s Choice categories. Jamie Bretman’s Hearts was voted as the runner-up.

Ruth Wilkin has performed in Court! The Cabaret as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2010 and Midsumma Festival 2011 at The Butterfly Club with Rachel Gorman and Caitlin Wills.
