If you got inspired by the terrific performances throughout the Melbourne Cabaret Festival, here’s your chance to sing your heart out at Cabaret Live! Melbourne Edition, hosted by Nikki Aitken at The Butterfly Club. 

Talented local performers including Emma Claire Ford, Justin Clausen, Simon Taylor, Sophie Walsh-Harrington and Gillian Cosgriff took to the stage for the launch in May. Some participants took the plunge for the first time with the host Nikki Aitken singing a few tunes herself, delighting the audience in the cozy cabaret theatre. Read the wrap-up of the Cabaret Live! Cabaret Live! is an opportunity for emerging and established artists to perform to a discerning cabaret audience in a sophisticated and intimate setting.

Whether you want to realise a life-long ambition to perform or you are looking for a friendly audience to test out new material, Cabaret Live! welcomes all performers. 

Every month, one of Melbourne’s leading pianists will be in residence to accompany the singers.

Cabaret Live was founded at La Boheme, Adelaide in 2009 and has since been playing to sell out audiences– here’s what they had to say.

Please arrive before start time (7:30pm) to register – pre-registrations can be done online by booking a ticket as a performer. Click on the link below to make the bookings.

Please bring sheet music (legible & correct key) for house accompanist.
