Emmy Award winner, composer, lyricist and musical director Lance Horne is currently performing on Meow Meow’s Little Match Girl as her musical director. He joined forces with Virginia Hyam, James Rongen-Hall to put together a special Valentine’s Day cabaret show Love Me for his last night in Sydney.
Go on a musical adventure through the jungle of love, featuring unique one-off performances from Australian and international artists. From rock cabaret to post-pop, musical comedy to burlesque - expect unexpected collaborations, surprising reinterpretations, clever covers and hopefully a whole lot of lovely chaotic unplanned gorgeousness… all in the surrounds of the best live venue to hit Sydney in years, The Standard.
Starring a dazzling array of cabaret artists, the line up includes Paul Capsis, direct from La Soiree in London, another La Soiree star Le Gateau Chocolat, New York burlesque stars The Wau Wau Sisters, multi-talented ingénue Candy Bowers (Sista She), piano-bashing alt-pop cabaret powerhouse and Triple J presenter Brendan Maclean, Queenie van de Zandt (Smoke & Mirrors), Tyran Parke, pop cabaret princess Emma Dean, and more to be announced. Lance Horne will musically direct the show.
Dallas Dellaforce and Mark Trevorrow has been announced as new additions to the line-up!
Part of the proceeds will be donated to ACON.

PAUL CAPSIS
Rock god, diva, ingenue, and icon of Australian stage and screen. Direct from starring inLa Soirée in London, we proudly welcome home a national treasure to tear the roof off The Standard on Valentine’s Day.

THE WAU WAU SISTERS
Legends of the NYC underground and darlings of the international festival fringe, the Wau Wau Sisters straddle the hilarious gap between performance art and burlesque.“Irreverent, sacrilegious, foul-mouthed and uninhibited” (NY Times)

LE GATEAU CHOCOLAT
An operatic diva with a killer baritone and a passion for laughter (and Lycra), Le Gateau Chocolat delivers outrageous yet moving renditions of everything from pop-rock to opera in his inimitable style.

CANDY BOWERS
Candy Bowers is at large, curvaceous, and loud: as a writer, hip-hop artist (and one half of the wildly successful Sista She), actor, director, arts worker, theatre maker, lyricist and social activist. Words are her tools of seduction - funny, political, intelligent and thought-provoking.

BRENDAN MACLEAN
When he’s not busy unearthing new talent on Triple J, or acting alongside Leo DiCaprio in Baz Lurhmann’s Gatsby, Brendan Maclean is a piano-wielding powerhouse of musical creativity. Having released his debut EP White Canvas last year to wide acclaim, he is an artist to watch in 2011.

QUEENIE VAN DE ZANDT
From Smoke & Mirrors to All Saints, Queenie van de Zandt has done it all. As an actor, comedian, vocalist and writer (not to mention her brilliantly repellent comedic alter-ego Jan van de Stool), Queenie is one of Australia’s most versative and well-loved performers.

TYRAN PARKE
Tyran Parke has forged a reputation as one of Australia’s pre-eminent musical and theatrical artists, turning his talents to everything from Sondheim to Shakespeare. In 2012 Tyran will direct the Sydney premiere of Pulitzer-winning musical Next to Normal.

EMMA DEAN
Emma Dean is fast emerging as a captivating and distinctive Australian musical voice. Deftly weaving a path between effervescent piano-driven pop and the theatricality of cabaret, Emma’s crystal-clear soprano infuses her intensely personal songs with a heightened sense of drama.

DALLAS DELLAFORCE
Drawing on popular culture, fashion history, drag and burlesque, Dallas Dellaforce is one of the most distinctive and inventive artists to emerge from the Sydney queer underground. Captivating audiences from Sleaze Ball to Sydney Opera House with breathtaking performances, Dallas (performer and stylist Daniel Squires Cater) is becoming a cross-cultural creative force to be reckoned with.

MARK TREVORROW
Mark Trevorrow is an entertainer, comedian, broadcaster, and creator of the much-loved comedy cabaret crooner Bob Downe. As well as numerous sell-out national tours and international festival seasons as the Prince of Polyester, Mark has carved out a distinguished career at home and abroad as a television presenter, cabaret performer, writer and radio host.

LANCE HORNE musical director
Lance Horne is an Emmy-award winning composer-lyricist, and an internationally acclaimed musical director and arranger to artists including Alan Cumming, Meow Meow and Justin Bond. Lance released his debut album in 2011, and regularly composes for film, theatre and television projects.
